What can I do? Where can I make a complaint?

Do you think you are experiencing a situation of discrimination, intimidation, or harassment (DIH)? You’re not alone.

Resources are available to listen to you, support you, and guide you. 

A safe space to listen to you and support you.

By reporting derogatory comments and inappropriate gestures, you contribute to maintaining a respectful work environment for everyone.

YOUR EMPLOYER

You must start by informing your employer or the person your employer has designated. If you feel that your employer is involved in the DIH situation, you have other recourses.

YOUR UNION

You can contact your union at any time.

THE CNESST

If you are not represented by a union association, you can make a complaint to the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST).

THE CDPDJ

You can also make a complaint to the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse (CDPDJ).

THE POLICE

Certain behaviours may also be considered criminal

  • Threats to kill or injure a person or to damage his or her property
  • Assault: using force against a person without his or her consent
  • Sexual assault: Any action (kissing, touching, sexual relations) taken with or without physical violence or injury, without the consent of the person targeted
  • Criminal harassment: Any repeated behaviour by a person that makes you fear for your safety, even if that person knows you feel harassed

If you think that you are or have been the victim of or witness to a crime, you can make a complaint to the police.
