Every individual has the right to a respectful, healthy, and safe work environment. If you experience or observe a problematic situation, you have the right to talk about it, to ask for help, and to use the mechanisms provided to report the situation.
The law is there for you
A colleague may not harass you, threaten you, or be violent toward you.
If you think you have been the victim of psychological, sexual, or discriminatory harassment on the job, you must inform your employer, or the person designated by your employer.
Your employer is required to intervene when made aware of a situation of harassment.
Your employer is also required to implement a policy for prevention of harassment and for processing complaints.
You can also contact your union.
You have the right to report a situation of harassment. Neither your colleagues nor your employer can punish you because you have made a complaint.
If you feel that reprisals have been taken against you, do not hesitate to contact your union or the CNESST.
